Getting set up on Facebook is relatively simple, but this short video should help to guide you though the process of establishing your personal Profile page, which is the way that almsot everyone begins.  

Facebook does provide the option to establish your presence solely as a business or brand Page (rather than a personal Profile), and the below video demonstrates that process.  I recommend you starting with a personal Profile and establishing and administering Pages from that Profile, but you should be aware that you have the option of participating within Facebook solely through a business and brand Page if you feel uncomfortable having a personal presence.
